Walter Crane (1845-1915) was a well-known and influential English illustrator and painter remembered for his imaginative contributions to children's books and fairy tales. Crane was responsible for furthering and developing common pictorial motifs which would continue in later illustrations, such as the children-in-the-garden motif.
This wallpaper design, created by Walter Crane in 1875, is one of his earliest works. Its bold black outlines and solid blocks of color reflect the influence of Greek vase painting.
This year, Signare has elevated this stunning design inspiration by expanding it into a diverse range of products, all featuring this single iconic pattern.
